Busy mom to three incredible kids, wife to a wonderful hardworking man, and lover of all things fitness! Kelly has been in the professional fitness industry since 2000, but her love of fitness extends back to childhood- attending classes with her mom, and then doing 80s/90s aerobics and weightlifting after school and between team practices.
Physical activity has been a huge part of her life for as long as she can remember, so heading into the fitness field was a natural progression for her. Kelly graduated from STFX with a BSc in Human Kinetics in 2000. While there, she obtained a personal training certification through CPTN (Canadian Personal Trainers Network). Furthering her training after completing her degree, she took additional certifications through canfitpro such as Fitness Instructor Specialist, Nutrition & Wellness Specialist, Pre/Post Natal Fitness Specialist, and updating as a Personal Trainer Specialist. Of these, Group Fitness is Kelly’s favourite and she has been teaching a large variety of classes for 22+ years.
Kelly’s class styles include: resistance style, bootcamps, step aerobics, hi/low impact aerobics, Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Strong by Zumba, CIRCLMobility, piloxing, kickboxing, YogaFlow, yoga sculpt, Piyo by Beachbody, and combos and variations of all of these classes. Variety is key to keeping engaged and keeping the body guessing and changing.
Kelly has been fortunate to teach all over Pictou County, at various gyms, studios, and community halls, and was even the owner of our studio for 6+ years when it was known as Pictou County Yoga. Group Fitness is Kelly’s passion and she wants to share that joy she feels when exercising together in a fun, energetic, and safe space.
